The DC LGBTQ+ Bar Association is proud to announce its 2024 Equality Fellowship, open to law students seeking to work at DC-area legal non profit organization this summer. The Equality Fellowship will pay $1,000 to the law student selected to be the LGBTQ+ Bar Association of the District of Columbia Equality Fellow.
If you know of any law student interns who may be interested, please encourage them to apply for these fellowships by May 15, 2024.

2024 Equality Fellowship Information
The Community Equality Fellowship will support a law student working at a DC-area legal non-profit organization this summer. Equality Fellowships aim to encourage law students taking their first steps toward careers tackling our nation’s most complex legal issues.
Qualifications for the Community Equality Fellowship (Sponsored by Winston & Strawn)
- Current enrollment in a U.S. accredited law school
- Summer employment offered by a legal organization in the Washington DC metro area
- Preference will be given to those who work at an organization dedicated to LGBTQ rights/issues or those who show that their work will advance LGBTQ rights/issues
- Employers must be non-profit and non-partisan, or a governmental agency
- Commitment to work at least 20 hours per week for at least 6 weeks during the summer
- Applicants must demonstrate commitment to LGBTQ rights and LGBTQ issues
