As part of our celebration, we plan to recognize Whitman-Walker Health, Legal Services, honoring their long history of providing comprehensive healthcare legal services designed to support patients and communities to achieve improved health and wellness outcomes.

Founded in 1986 as a frontline response to the AIDS Crisis, Whitman-Walker Health’s Legal Services Program has evolved into an essential resource in fighting discrimination, helping patients navigate and secure federal benefits, assisting transgender clients, and providing asylum and immigration services. As we mark this essential program’s 40th anniversary, we are proud that it stands as the nation’s longest-running medical-legal partnership and a testament to community-centered innovation.
